We had the absolute pleasure of capturing Emma and Matthew’s special day at Pollokshields Burgh Hall in Glasgow last October. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and a few unexpected surprises, and we are so excited to share some of the highlights with you.
Emma and Matthew met just before the Covid lockdown, and it was Matthew’s best decision ever to swipe right on Emma. Despite the challenges of lockdown, they found ways to connect and get to know each other better. Long walks and themed weekend evenings over dinner became the norm for them, and it was during this time that they fell for each other. When it came time for their wedding, their love and commitment to one another was evident in every moment.
Emma and Matthew’s wedding ceremony was a mix of tradition with a personal touch. Instead of the customary whisky, the couple sealed their vows with espresso martinis from the quaich. This playful twist not only reflected their shared love for unconventional surprises but also echoed the unique bond they formed during the lockdown, where espresso martinis were the drink that brought them together.
Another special touch was having their two dogs join them on their special day. Emma and Matthew are self-proclaimed dog lovers, and having their furry friends be a part of their wedding was a must. Their dogs added an extra layer of joy to the day, and it was such a pleasure to capture them in the photos.
Of course, no wedding day is complete without a little bit of unexpected weather. Glasgow experienced seriously heavy rain that day, but Emma and Matthew were absolute troopers. They embraced the weather with smiles on their faces and were up for walking through the puddles in Maxwell Park for some amazing photographs together. Emma and Matthew were so positive and keen to have fun pictures, it made our job as photographers a breeze.
As Glasgow wedding photographers, it was an honor to be a part of Emma and Matthew’s special day. Capturing the joy, love, and laughter that filled the day was a true privilege, and we are so grateful to have been a part of their journey.
Thank you Emma and Matthew for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful wedding day, and we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
