A few weekends back saw us enjoy two wonderful weddings – Gillian and Craig were married at Enterkine House in Ayrshire on Saturday and then we joined Joanne and Emmanuel to photograph their wedding at Hotel Du Vin, Glasgow.
We had to fight through some of the elements to make it to Enterkine House – it really is unusual to have such wintery conditions in March! However, when we arrived the snow had subsided, but the cold hadn’t! Gillian and Craig had a beautiful ceremony conducted by a family friend, and the beautiful rooms within Enterkine House allowed for some lovely group photographs afterwards. On meeting Gillian and Craig prior to their wedding craig expressed that he really didn’t like getting his picture taken at all and the photography part of the day was not going to be his favourite, however Gillian and Craig were happy to brave the cold for a few pictures outside, before returning inside to the warmth to catch some candid pictures, the speeches and onto the first dance as everyone enjoyed the day and the evening celebrations!
We’ve since received a lovely thank you from Gillian and Craig – “Thank you both so much for everything – we couldn’t have asked for better photographers! Even Craig thought you were great and was somewhat relieved that you didn’t take offence whenever he got fed up with photos! There are some brilliant candid ones!”
We then travelled to Hotel Du Vin in Glasgow on Sunday to photograph the wedding of Joanne and Emmanuel. We had met them previously in Stirling for an engagement shoot and had built up a great rapport with them and were looking forward to their wedding day.
It was an intimate, emotional ceremony and as emmanuel and his family are french, the ceremony was conducted in both english and french. the couple were keen to then have a few photographs taken inside their venue – and then to make the short journey to the Botanic Gardens. It was still very cold – but very much worth the journey across to make sure Joanne and Emmanuel got the images that they wanted.
Both Jo and Emmanuel were slightly nervous about the first dance – but they also had great fun throughout it – and when we left them to enjoy their evening – the party was in full flow!
We’ve since received a lovely thank you from Jo & emmanuel – “We both had such a ball on our wedding day. it was fab (despite my nerves…and tears!). We wanted to thank you and Ross so much for making our day go smoothly and for helping it to be so enjoyable. We both felt it was like having our friends take our pictures, you made us feel so relaxed and we had a great laugh. Afterwards we both said we wished you could have stayed to join us for the party and relax after all your hard work”
